PRELIMINARY SUBMISSIONS
Preliminary Submissions are based on film trailers only, not the entire film.
Submitted trailers must be a maximum of 30 seconds long.
Submission dates and times are between October 8th 2021 beginning at 12:00 AM East African Time and October 28th 2021 at midnight (12:00 AM October 28th 2021).
The trailer for the film must be superhero themed.
Any pornographic or overly sexual content leads to immediate elimination from the competition.
PRELIMINARY JUDGING
Selection of finalists is on the basis of the quality of their trailers as proof of concept and film making skill.
Preliminary Selection results are final.
Selection takes place between October 28th 2021 and October 31st 2021.
The ten finalists will be notified on November 1st 2021.
The creators retain all rights to their work.
All submissions(trailer and short film) must be submitted on the basis of a KFCB approved synopsis and license.
FINALIST SUBMISSIONS
The top ten finalists, upon notification of their selection, will be required to submit their complete short films to NAICCON by the indicated medium within the new submission period.
Selected finalists have 3 weeks, from November 1st to November 21st 2021, to submit their short films.
The short films should not exceed five minutes in length.
Any pornographic or overly sexual content leads to immediate elimination from the competition.
The selected finalists by entering the competition agree that their completed films will be made available after the film festival on the promoter's platform for additional public viewing as well as the curators' (NAICCON and CCCA) social media pages.
During the competition stages the films will be viewable through a voting platform facilitated and managed by the sponsors.
The films shall also be live streamed through the film festival.
PUBLIC VOTING
Public voting takes place between November 22nd 2021 and December 2nd 2021 via a separate platform that will be availed to the finalists and public alike during the voting period.
OFFICIAL JUDGING
Official judging will take place at the NAICCON Short Film Festival on December 4th 2021 during the 2021 Nairobi Comic Convention. The cumulative scorecard is 60% judges, 40% public voting.
The announced results on the basis of the public voting and judges scorecard cumulative total is final.
PRIZES
1st Place - 25,000 Kenyan Shillings
2nd Place - 20,000 Kenyan Shillings
3rd Place - 15,000 Kenyan Shillings
Transmission of prizes will take place after the film festival through the most secure method available.
